Monday June 30th, 2008 11:07 jc penny commercial

This isn’t a real JC Penny Commercial. It’s more like a portfolio piece for an ad agency or media company. It’s really neat. Guess it caused a stir with it’s content. But really, their is no harm in this. If they were 2 old people would the commercial work? I dont think so. Commercials are getting better, but seeing any with substance are hard to come by because the content supersedes the product they are trying to sell.

Sunday June 29th, 2008 21:50 crosstown classic: a terrible defeat

I’m seriously angry about this game tonight. The Cubs really were off balance all night, ESPN does a terrible telecast, and there was 2 blown calls that got me super upset. Lou Piniella was thrown out cause of arguing a check swing and a double play was called when Cedeno, at first, was safe.

Joe Morgan is an idiot. He called Henry Blanco Geovany Soto a couple of times. Any time he could rip on the Cubs, he did. He backed up the umpires which was stupid. And when they showed a strike out from Buehrle with K Zone, which was a foot outside of the strikezone, all he did was laugh. I should’ve had the game on mute.

What got me really going is the strike zone expanding for Buehrle. I hate it when that happens with pitchers. The fact that the Cubs do not make an adjustment to it enrages me. They never swung at any of those pitches. Maybe its best that they dont, proving a point or something, but come on foul it off and wait for something in the zone.

Maybe this game was rigged. Maybe they’re playing the Black Sox. Its just terrible. I’m mad at the Cubs. I’m mad at the umpiring. I’m mad at the White Sox. I’m in the ANGERDOME.

P.S. If the Cubs lose a game I’ve got a word of advice. Don’t call me or talk to me please.

Sunday June 29th, 2008 14:34 euro cup final

Watching the EuroCup 2008, Spain vs Germany. Looking around on ESPN and found this video. Looks like Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium use to be a prison during WWII. Interesting stuff. Check it out.

Saturday June 28th, 2008 19:38 crosstown classic – a (good) defeat

No defeat is good, but I must say these crosstown classic games are great. I never thought a defeat could feel so lively and competitive and make me so enthusiastic to watch the next game. The Cubs lost 5-6 today against the White Sox at US Cellular today. It was a offensive battle all the way through. Javier Vasquez only lasted till the 5th inning pitching over 100 pitches. Guillen did a good job mixing his relief against a very diverse Cubs line up. Sean Gallagher took the Cubs to the 7th throwing 120+ pitches, striking out 8.

The battle was between Carlos Marmol and Carlos Quentin. Quentin looked like crap during his at bat. He was fighting off really good sliders to end up hitting a dinger opposite field to get the game winning home run. The Sox finished it up with Linebrink and Jenks with the save.

It was great to experience this game in real time at The Cell. My buddy Shok, a White Sox fan, hooked me up. People got really really wasted. Stumblers all around the place. I had seats in the 102 section. Its in right field. Good mixture of Fans. Even befriended a few White Sox fans and everyone shook hands after the game. Heading to the EL there were tones of ‘CUBBIES SUCK!’ chants. And I even saw a huge L flag that some Sox fans were waving outside the stadium that cracked me up.

Friday June 27th, 2008 19:56 asian steve perry again…

So, as I have this weird obsession with Journey. I found this video that tells you the story of this asian dude, well he’s not asian, he’s actually Philippino. His name is Arnel Pineda and Journey saw some of his YouTube videos then asked him to be in the band. Haha, thats crazy. You can see the story here.

Still don’t think he’s as good as the original masta-of-disasta:

And what about us? That’s right. I think Bad News, Dan and I did a purty good job. Haha:

American Idols! 3!

Friday June 27th, 2008 19:26 xbox 360 price cut?

A page clipping from an upcoming Kmart ad is revealing that the XBox 360 is going to be having a price cut. The image shows a price point of $299.99. That’s $50 less than what it is right now. I think it’s a great idea to lower the price. As the PS3 is gaining momentum with the shipment of Metal Gear Solid 4 Microsoft needs to do something.

The person who posted the images says that the price cut should go into effect around July 6, a Sunday, likely meaning that the ad is intended to run in that edition of the newspaper. It’s fairly common for newspaper ads such as this to be printed a week or more in advance of the publication date, and with Civilization Revolution set for release on July 8, the timing of this leak fits well. That’s also the week before the big E3 Media and Business Summit in Los Angeles, a time when console makers traditionally try to generate momentum for their systems with big announcements.

I love my 360 and the interface they have for online gaming is second to none.

Friday June 27th, 2008 19:10 crosstown classic – a sad day

Today was the beginning of the series at US Cellular Field. Much like the Cubs, the White Sox play much better at home. They proved that by romping them 11-4. I couldn’t even watch the game it disgusted me so bad. I had actually not known what time the game had started since my hangover from New Orleans hadn’t left yet. I turned it on to notice Demp walked the bases loaded for Nick Swisher. Then, I just heard the hit. I knew it was gone. A grand salami put the game out of reach to make it 8-0. Demp had only pitched 2 full innings and had to be taken out of the game. I turned off the TV. I didn’t need the negativity to swirl around in my fragile mind. Tomorrow is a new day.

Thursday June 26th, 2008 19:15 asian steve perry

Hahaha, my cousin Fabian sent me a great link of Journey performing live. Their Steve Perry replacement is an asian dude. How funny is that. Can’t believe my eyes. They have to seriously cut the crap and get Perry back in the saddles. I’ve had enough of these impostors. This dude tries to look like him too. Haha, so funny. Thanks Fabes!

Thursday June 26th, 2008 19:08 bourbon street blues

I’m sitting here at the Pensacola Airport recalling all the weird images of a crazy night on Bourbon Street. Its all so hazy, but I completely blame it on the Hurricanes and Hand Grenades we drank. So much hustle and bustle for a single street. I felt like I had walked into the 1700s. The streets are narrow and dark in the French Quarter. We stayed at the Hotel Lerichelieu and ate at the Gumbo Shop. Good times were had. I noticed that there are a lot more strip clubs on Bourbon Street. I find it odd. Kinda funny to see one that advertised ‘Moderate Prices’. That place was a craphole.

My mind is wrecked right now. Don’t really know what else to say. I went to New Orleans and got wasted. Now I’m really hungover and dont know what I want to do as I wait for my delayed flight to hotlanta. Man those drinks really messed me up. So much fun though. I felt bad that Mike had to drive the whole way back. I tried to stay up with him the whole way back to Pensacola so he had someome to talk to. Well, that’s all I’ve got in me right now.
